Will Green and Blue Lines buses promote tourism in Islamabad?

Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif inaugurated the Green and Blue Lines modern bus service in the federal capital. On this occasion, the Prime Minister announced that the public will travel for free for one month on the metro bus service.

In his Tweet, Prime Minister wrote, “Inauguration of Green & Blue Lines of Metro Bus Service is great news for citizens of Islamabad & surrounding areas. It’s part of our efforts to provide an efficient & comfortable public transport system. It will address problems of traffic load, fuel cost & environmental hazards.”

Under the modern plan of public transport, green and blue lines buses of metro bus service will run on 2 rush routes in Islamabad.

Green and Blue Lines buses in Islamabad

Green Line Metrobus Service covers 15.5 km from Bhara Kahu to PIMS Hospital. 8 stations have been constructed on this route while Blue Line Metrobus Service will cover a distance of 20 km from Coral to PIMS Hospital and 13 passenger stations will be set up on this route.

Federal Minister for Information Maryam Aurangzeb has said in her Twitter statement that the inauguration of the modern bus service in Islamabad will provide travel facilities to the citizens of the federal capital and thousands of people will benefit from it daily.

He said that Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif is a pioneer of public transport connectivity in Pakistan.

Here is a question that arises in people’s minds will Green and Blue Lines buses promote tourism in Islamabad?

The answer is very simple easily available transportation plays a major role in promoting tourism in any country.

PMLN Govt had already introduced a Metro bus service on two routes between Islamabad and Rawalpindi.
