Faisalabad City: Industry, handicraft, the textile hub.

Faisalabad is the third-largest city in Pakistan and the second largest in Punjab. It is also called the Manchester of Pakistan.

The town was named Lyallpur in recognition of the services rendered by the then Governor, Sir James Lyall, when the town was

planned and settled during the British rule.

It is known as the hub of textiles and industrial city in the province of Punjab. Speaking of its historical background,

the city attracted conquerors from around the world.

From the Great Stork to Alexander the Great and then to the Mughals, they made it part of their empire.

After the formation of Pakistan in 1971, Lyallpur was known as one of the largest villages in Asia.

The Industrial Revolution took place during the reigns of former President Ayub Khan and Prime Minister Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto.

The city became the hub of textiles. Later, in 1979, it was renamed after King Rawa Shah Faisal of Saudi Arabia.

The city consists of eight sub-districts, Lyallpur Town, Madina Town, Jinnah Town, Iqbal Town, Chak Jhumra Town,

Jaranwala Town, Samundari Town, and Tandlianwala Town.

Popular places include Ghantaghar, Chenab Club, Gumti, Qaisari Darwaza (Rail Bazaar),

Rex City, Faisalabad Hockey Stadium, Iqbal Stadium, Bagh-e-Jinnah, Serena Hotel, Koh-i-Noor One, and Regent Mall.

Eight bazaars have been set up in the central part of the city and a tall minaret has been built in their center.

This tall, beautiful tower is the biggest identity of Faisalabad, which is called Ghanta Ghar. At the top are four large clocks.

The chicken pilaf of Faisalabad is very famous. Just as Karachi is known as the city of

lights, Lahore gardens and Sargodha is the city of hawks, so is Faisalabad famous for its textile industry.

The highest quality fabric produced in the textile industry here is loved not only in Pakistan but also abroad.

However, in contrast to the aforementioned identity of Faisalabad for decades, it has been attributed to mere worldliness.

In electronic and social media, the residents of Faisalabad are arbitrarily associated with worldliness

and worldliness and an attempt is made to create the impression that all the residents of Faisalabad are worldly.

Even in the programs and stage dramas of various TV channels, from

rickshaw drivers of Faisalabad to doctors and professors are portrayed as comedians and jugglers.

A vicious attempt to change the historical status of the city. However, the simple, hardworking, and loving people here have nothing

to do with worldliness. That is why such misleading propaganda is not only a cause of concern and annoyance to the serious

circles of the city but also an insult. It may be recalled that internationally renowned Dr. Amjad Saqib, renowned

voice actor, Zia Mohi-ud-Din, the world’s youngest software professional Arfa Karim Randhawa,

and world-renowned musician Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan also belong to Faisalabad.
